Amazon recently announced it will be splitting its second headquarters, commonly referred to as Amazon HQ2, between Queens, New York and Northern Virginia. However, the incentives given to the company have inspired a marked backlash due to a general feeling that the incentives were unfairly extracted from the winners. The gist of the complaint is that Amazon made the search process look like a contest when the entire time the decision was in the bag for locations near Jeff Bezos homes, essentially a general dude-that’s-not-fair complaint.
